AK Fam is spending the week in sunny, dry, and incredibly beautiful Arizona this week, because hey, even travel writers deserve vacations. It’s been a big adventure for certain, between Grand Canyon National Park, Route 66, and now, Stagecoach Trails Guest Ranch, a historic and very laid-back outfit just outside Yucca. More on this, later. But I wanted y’all <—-see what I did there—> to know why the blog has been a bit quiet.
PRESENTING — THE ALASKA SUMMER SHOWCASE
in its third year, the now-famous Alaska Summer Showcase has established itself as a premier event for those planning an Alaska adventure. The timing is perfect; March 26, when Alaskans are antsy for summer weather, time off, and a wealth of activities ranging from flightseeing, day cruising, hiking, biking, and overnighting around this wonderful state we call home.
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT
Scott McMurren, the man behind Alaska Travelgram’s deal-o-the-minute success, decided a few years ago he wanted to collaborate with everyone in the business and offer Alaskans more good deals in one great place. Not just a trade show, the Summer Showcase is an opportunity to visit personally with Scott’s hand-picked travel and tourism folks, set up trips, and — this is the really great part– win incredible prizes, including airplane tickets.
WHEN AND WHERE
The Alaska summer Showcase will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 from Noon-5 p.m. AKDST at the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage.
WHY FAMILIES SHOULD GO
Kids will enjoy the Alaska Summer Showcase, as Scott, listening to the wisdom of his AKontheGO counterpart (moi), has set up a Kids Zone at the Native Heritage Center, and moms and dads will like the fact kids 12 and under are FREE. Adults are a mere $7.94 for each “boarding pass” to the Showcase event.
