AKontheGO Fam is ready; the family truckster is boxed, biked, and bundled, Kid has added one or two last toys to his backpack, Dad has had enough coffee, and we’re rolling down to Homer. Almost.
Finally, a bona fide vacation with little agenda beyond lounging on the deck or in the living room of a cozy cabin at our favorite cosmic hamlet-by-the-sea. Homer lies about four or five hours south of Anchorage on the Kenai Peninsula, and is our favorite destination for relaxation.
Our cabin is a funky pink and teal job, next door to the Ring of Fire Meadery, down the road from Two Sisters Bakery, and a block from the beach. How strategic of me. More about those places as the week progresses, but rest assured, AKontheGO’ers, we’ll fill you in.
As AK Kid phrases all trips to Homer; “Fishin’ and Campin’, here we come!”
