Getting Children Outdoors: Go Wild!

What could be better?

What could be better?

Mark this date down in red pen, parents and caregivers: Thursday, November 12, 7 p.m., Spenard Recreation Center. It’s an evening for an informative, important message about getting our kids outside and off the couch.

Martin LeBlanc of the Children and Nature Network will be in Anchorage to speak to the value of allowing our children to experience nature in its own unaltered state, the way it should be. Along with Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, LeBlanc is a leader in the movement to provide all children with opportunities to explore and experience all the outdoors has to offer, and he’ll be sharing these ideas and leading a discussion just for us.

The presentation is free, and bring the kids; they will have the opportunity to make their own trail mix while we parents talk.

Make it a priority to spread this grassroots effort in our state. For more information, call 786-3351.
