Calling all ghosts, goblins, and ghouls! AKontheGO is thrilled to be partnering with sponsors/friends Salmon Berry Tours and Alaska Center for Pediatrics at the 2012 Trick or Treat Street event, held Saturday, October 27 in downtown Anchorage, from 12-4 p.m.
Trick or Treat Street is a fabulous family tradition, and a safe way for kids of all ages to enjoy a little pre-Halloween fun. Organized by the equally fabulous Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Trick or Treat Street features the support of downtown businesses, who dress up their storefronts and provide entertainment, candy, music, and tons of fun. Last year, around 2,500 kids tromped through downtown Anchorage businesses, and word on the street says 2012 could be even bigger.
Here’s how it works: Pick up a Trick or Treat Street map in the Anchorage Press (coming really, really soon) and head downtown for the FREE family fun. Hayrides, face-painting and such will be available, as will a special Ghost Tour at the Performing Arts Center, a Frightening 4k race sponsored by Skinny Raven, and a Zombie Preparedness Movie Fest for those concerned about the living dead apocalypse. Whew. All the details, including fast internet sign up for the 4k, are available on the Trick or Treat Street page, HERE.
Make sure you stop by the Salmon Berry Tours office at 515 West 4th Avenue, too! We’ll be hosting a Parent Relaxation Station, featuring beanbags, rocking chairs, hot chocolate, and some, um, healthier snacks to restore everyone’s energy. After jumping around in the Visit Anchorage bouncy castle, you’ll need it. Watch for the haunted tour guides and a flock of Peeps, too!
Trick or Treat Street is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with your own AK Fam. Give us a shout if you need more information at email@example.com, or stay glued to our Facebook page, Twitter feed, or Pinterest boards!
