Lovebirds, sweethearts and valentines of all ages are invited to the Alaska Zoo’s “Valentines for the Animals” on Saturday, Feb. 10 from noon – 3 p.m. To share the love, Saturday will also serve as the Alaska Zoo’s first Kids Free Day of the year, offering free entry to children ages 17 and under from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.with parental supervision.

The heart-filled celebration includes an “animal kisses” photo booth, festive animal enrichment sessions and other holiday activities. Visitors can find their fur-ever valentines as they craft cards for their favorite animal residents. During the event, guests can warm up with free hot coco from the Coffee Shop Greenhouse before delivering their valentines to the large envelopes at the animal habitats.

“We love all our zoo residents, and it is fun to see the community share their admiration for the animals,” Alaska Zoo Executive Director Patrick Lampi said. “Families, couples and friends come together year after year for the cute but also educational Valentine’s activities.”

After the event is over, the zoo will open again at 6:30 p.m. and zoo goers can take advantage of the final few weeks of Zoo Lights. Another sweet deal for February is a discounted annual membership, which now includes admission to Zoo Lights. New members also receive a one-day guest pass to share with a friend for every additional $50 spent toward memberships.
