Looking for that special “something extra” to offer younger travelers? AKontheGO owner Erin Kirkland is available for hourly, daily, or multi-day step-on guide services with a curated focus on nature, outdoor education, and recreational activities centered around the needs of kids 3-16.
Traveling the 49th state with children is a highly-rewarding opportunity for families, but sometimes it also requires a bit of extra attention, especially for those traveling as a larger group. Erin can offer a wide range of age-appropriate, hands-on fun related to each family’s particular Alaska adventure. Whether your group is interested in Southeast Alaska’s rainforests, wildlife of the national parks, or climate change in the Arctic, Erin and her “toolbox” of activities will travel with you, bringing a fresh understanding to Alaska’s regional history, culture, recreation, and industry.
Erin is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University with a degree in Recreation Management, specializing in experiences for diverse populations. She has worked in the outdoor recreation industry since 1989, with the intent of fostering stewardship for nature and family fun, wherever, whenever, and however it can be accomplished. Erin currently lives in Anchorage with her husband and two sons, and has floated, flown, hiked, biked, and schussed her family around most of the state, but there’s always more to see.
Erin is Wilderness First Aid/CPR/AED certified, infants through adults. She has completed all State of Alaska mandatory background checks and trainings and is certified to work with children.
