AK on the GO: Your Family Travel Resource in Alaska

Welcome to AK on the GO, created to assist families with  kid-friendly travel and activity options in Alaska.  While a trip within the 49th state offers the experience of a lifetime (think towering mountains, up-close wildlife, and icy glaciers), Alaska also requires parents to be extra vigilant when considering attractions, outings, safety, and finances in a state bigger than Texas.

AK on the GO was launched by Erin Kirkland, an Alaskan freelance writer, mother of two, and lifelong traveler. Together the intrepid Kirkland clan visits potential hotspots appealing to families of all ages and interests. They search out great deals, friendly hosts, and activities that  hopefully bring out the adventurer in all of us while maintaining family harmony.

AK on the GO is not  limited to those who live out of state. Alaskan families, too, will benefit from the travel log of day excursions in and around Alaska’s two largest cities, Anchorage and Fairbanks, and overnight and multi-day trips that focus on a specific geographic area or fun event catering to the entire group.
